The nearest, most convenient and least expensive air route is into Carcassonne (Salvaza), which is served by Ryanair flying from Charleroi, Cork, Dublin, East Midlands, Liverpool, London Stansted and Shannon.

Carcassonne airport is less than a half-hour drive from Villa des Rosiers; there are several car hire companies based at the airport including Avis, Europcar and Hertz: the latter offering discounted rates through Ryanair.

Other convenient airports include Beziers (Ryanair from Bristol), Toulouse (BMI Baby from Manchester; EasyJet from Bristol & Gatwick) and Perpignan (Ryanair from Birmingham).

By rail, the TGV runs to Bordeaux, Toulouse and Narbonne, all of which have connections directly to Carcassonne.

Road access is very straight forward: the A61 runs east to west skirting below Carcassonne and linking the Mediterranean coastal motorways to Toulouse and beyond. Trausse is less than half an hour from Junctions 23, 24 or 25.

From A61 Junction 23: follow signs for Mazamet which, after several roundabouts, will bring you onto the D620; follow the signs, first for Conques-sur-Orbiel, then divert for Villalier – Villegly – Caunes – Trausse.

Driving from Carcassonne airport you must exit to the right; at the first island make a U-turn and return past the airport on your left. At the next island turn left and follow the same directions shown from Junction 23.

From A61 Junction 25: head for Lezignan- Corbiers, then onto D611 and follow the signs for Argens – Homps – Olonzac – Pepieux – Trausse (Caunes)

The villa will be ready for your arrival from 4pm onwards but, should you wish to drop off your luggage earlier we shall be happy to look after it for you. The villa must be vacated by 10am on the day of your departure but you may leave your luggage in our care during that day if you wish.
